Last night we had a much-needed gathering at home with our wonderful neighbors, friends, and family.  After a month of feeling isolated from home and unsettled in every way, being in our home and feeling the embrace of people that love us was a beautiful experience.  One of the best parts was seeing Alexander romp with his schoolmates Sydney, Mason, and Sadie–the joy on his face brought joy to everyone.

We appreciate Pam and Randy (my in-laws, Christy’s parents) for traveling to Chicago to help us live a few low-stress days at home and spend time with Alexander.   Thanks also to Jan and Avery Spunt for coming to see us–they are dealing with cancer struggles of their own, and we were so thrilled that they could make it.  We wish we could name-check everyone that came–you know who you are, and we thank you so much for coming over and embracing us.

We all feel so loved, and that gives us strength.

If anyone has a hankering for tacos, we have tons of leftovers–come get ’em before we leave Tuesday morning.

Christy felt the love of friends and neighbors that she had been so worried about not having with all of her work travel over the past few years. She thanks you all for that so much!

Charlotte continues to thrive at camp. See pictures. And she even shared her dress with a friend for the dance. Dance?!? We are so proud of her for never calling home ever but miss her a ton! She is so strong and such a leader. 🥰
