Matt Brown and I got the results! —and we’re breathing a little easier. No progression. That’s the best news we could have hoped for today. These moments of relief mean everything, and we just wanted to share it with all of you who’ve been walking this road with us.

Check out the photo of Alexander in the mask, strapped to the MRI machine. He’s getting to the age where he can do MRIs without sedation, a huge step forward! He wasn’t able to do it this time, but with a little more maturity, he’ll be able to skip the sedation that is so painful for us to watch and so difficult for him to wake from. This wakeup from sedation was pretty bad, too–Alexander was as mad as he’s ever been, insistent on getting more wobbly medicine. Only time, some apple juice, and a trip to the bathroom improve his mood.

We have exciting news about the future of cancer research! Do you remember when we faced relapse? We were so lucky it was a huge error, but now we could possibly save him if that happened. Thanks to the brilliant and tireless work of Dr. Jim Olson at Seattle Children’s, a promising new immunotherapy is close to reaching clinical trials in kids with relapsed or universally fatal brain tumors. We are asking for your help!

Here’s the amazing part: a generous couple in Seattle has offered to match $25,000 once we raise that amount from Alexander’s community. That means every single gift right now brings us twice as close to the finish line!

If you’ve been thinking about donating, now is the perfect time. Your support is helping us fight for Alexander’s future—and we’re so close. Jim Olson Seattle Children’s
