(Written by Christy) Today was a big day. Keep going!

Alexander had his scan this morning at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and we are so relieved to share that it shows no progression. Those words mean everything to us right now.

What’s important to share is that I actually started writing this post before we knew the results. Why? Because on scan days, I have to focus on the positive and lean into optimism. It’s the only way for me to keep moving forward when fear tries to take over.

I began my day on a call with the New Moms Board of Directors, which was a welcome distraction as Alexander headed back for his scan. Normally, I go with him as he waits and is put under anesthesia. But today, I wanted Matt to have that moment. To sit with him in the minutes before the procedure, to hold his hand as he drifts off to sleep. These are the moments that matter, and sharing them is important for both of us.

We are so grateful to be at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital —the only place we will come for a scan if at all possible. They lead global research collaborations, share protocols freely, and push boundaries to find cures for the toughest pediatric cancers. For families like ours, St. Jude is not just a hospital—it’s hope and family.

Scan days bring back the weight of June 4, 2023, when our world changed with the words “brain cancer.” He continues to amaze us with his resilience, his humor, and his ability to find joy in the smallest things.

Especially all things Pokemon! 😂

This journey has taught us that hope is not passive. It’s active. It’s showing up for every appointment, advocating for research, connecting with others who understand or are in confusion early in their journey, and finding ways to keep moving forward even when fear tries to hold you still.

Advocacy has become a huge part of my life—whether it’s serving on boards, sharing Alexander’s story to push for bipartisan support for childhood cancer research, or working to ensure that kids like Alexander have access to the best care possible.

Today, we exhale. We celebrate this moment. And we keep fighting—not just for Alexander, but for every child and family facing this unimaginable road. Thank you for continuing to hold us in your hearts. Your prayers, messages, and support mean more than you know!!!

NOW!!! We can get into the holidays!!! So excited!!! ❄️🎄⛄️🎁
