As we await Alexander to finish his MRI and recover from anesthesia, what news we have received!  We still still have tears of joy in all of our eyes.  We never would have understood it before.  We couldn’t. But when we experienced being helpless to provide relief for our normally joyful little 4 year old boy, we changed forever.

Our entire family continues to be eternally grateful for every text, conversation, and connection that our clan has given us.  Our friends, family, and Christy’s Medtronic family (truly a family) have launched into action.  Our journey is just beginning, and we recognize will absolutely never end.

Alexander has been accepted on both sides for transfer to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta TOMORROW!  Pending no surprises from the MRI, Dr. Barunashish Brahma has accepted Alexander and will do the first surgery on Wednesday.  After the past two days being filled with questions and delays, we are so happy to start to move forward.  We are thankful Tammie, the Neuro Coordinator, who has already taken such care of us before even knowing who we are.  This is all because of our incredible Medtronic family.  We are not even sure we know everyone behind the scenes.  With all of our attention on Alexander, we had not even considered that Medtronic devices could play a part, or even a huge part, in Alexander’s future.  While there are still details to confirm, our son will likely be supported by the Medtronic clinical team.  He will have the precision of the navigation of the StealthStation S8 Surgical Navigation System which we are especially thankful for since he is small.  If necessary, he will also receive a Medtronic External Ventricular Drain. Thank you to Linnea, Bo, Carla, Phil, Sandi, Stacie, Jyoti, Jason, Stephanie, Duraid, and others I know I missed for sharing your relationships and trusting me!

We will send another update on timing as I know everyone is anxious for flight times and surgery times.

Our entire clan sends every deep heartfelt thank you that is possible.  This vast and amazing network has made something that we started to feel was impossible.

And on that note! A new update!  He is being transferred at 7pm!!! Here we go, baby boy!!!
